1. Information We Collect

When you create a Clarex account, we collect your email address and password (stored as a salted hash). When you upload data files, we store them securely in our object storage infrastructure. We do not access, read, or analyze your uploaded data except as needed to provide the Clarex service (schema detection, AI analysis, report generation).

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Clarex service
To authenticate your identity and manage your account
To process your data files for analysis and reporting
To send transactional emails (report delivery, account notifications)
To monitor aggregate usage for capacity planning and cost optimization

3. AI Processing

Clarex uses third-party AI models (Anthropic Claude) to analyze your data and generate reports. Your data is sent to the AI provider only during active analysis sessions and is not used to train AI models. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your uploaded files are stored in encrypted object storage (MinIO/S3-compatible). Database records are stored in PostgreSQL with encryption at rest. All data transmission uses TLS encryption. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your data sources at any time through the dashboard.

5. Cookies

We use a JWT token stored in localStorage for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies for session management and theme preferences.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data and uploaded files
Delete your account and all associated data
Export your data in its original format
Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through a notice on the service.
